Picking up the harmonica ... a few questions.

So I'm picking up the harmonica, and I have some questions for any harmonica players on here. I'm having a lot of problems with bending notes, and the videos that I've found on Youtube weren't very descriptive. I'm not sure if I'm doing it wrong, or if I'm just using the wrong kind of harp. Any tips are appreciated. Thanks!

One thing you might try if you haven't already, and I'm considering this as well, is trying Bill Brown's harmonica course. All his courses are audio only and taught specifically with the blind in mind. I own his guitar and tin wistle courses and found them to be extremely helpful.

Thanks. I'll definitely try those. Is the tin whistle one worth it for the price?

I feel it is. I've learned a lot from it.

I'm a long-time harmonica player, mostly self-taught and somewhat out of practice. Bending notes has always been a problem for me, so think I'll check out this course. I believe NLS also has some harmonica-related material in their music section which I've been meaning to hunt down for years. Best of luck and enjoy your harp.

Actually I think they offer Bill Brown's courses as well, which would mean you wouldn't have to pay for them. Of course you'd have to make sure your local library either had them or could order them for you if they didn't already have them.
